In Quebec since 1987, the Centre de cooperation
internationale en santé et développement (CCISD)
became a non-profit corporation in 1996, in accordance
with the Canada Corporations Act.
It specializes in the design and management of
international health projects.
The CCISD’s mission is to contribute to improving the
health of the most destitute communities, through the
reinforcement of health sector resources and their
partnering community groups.
The Groupe Consultation CCISD, a wholly-owned
subsidiary of the CCISD, was created in December 2001
under the Canada Business Corporations Act. It provides
consultation services, as well as project design and
management—mainly in the field of international health. It
undertakes mandates consistent with the CCISD mission. All
profits collected by the Groupe Consultation CCISD are
used exclusively for the elaboration of development
projects.
The CCISD and the Groupe Consultation CCISD are
characterized by their
global health vision and their expertise in the fight
against AIDS, the prevention of sexually transmitted
diseases, as well as in the fields of epidemiological
surveillance, primary health care, women’s health, and
community participation initiatives. To date, they have
conducted more than 96 projects in 25 different countries,
and have average annual operations of CAN $12 million.
