CCISD's 30th ANNIVERSARY: An Unforgettable Event!

On November 2nd, the CCISD Team had the pleasure of celebrating 30 years of synergistic actions in international health with over a hundred of its key partners, collaborators and friends who came from all over the world to take part in the festivities.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, participants got the opportunity to look back at CCISD’s journey over the last three decades and to find renewed inspiration and motivation for furthering CCISD’s mission, which is to help sustainably improve the health of populations.

As mentioned by CCISD’s General Manager, Mr. Robert Beaudry, in his opening remarks, since 1987, CCISD has implemented over 110 projects in 41 countries, touched close to 12 million beneficiaries, supported approximately 1,325 health facilities and managed close to a quarter of a billion dollars. Taking great pride in these numbers, Mr. Beaudry insisted that these results would never have been possible without the hard work of competent, dynamic and dedicated teams, both in the countries of intervention and at the head office, in Quebec City.

‘’Celebrating 30 years, for an organization, means reaching maturity. To get there, it had to demonstrate an ability to adapt, adjust and build resilience in order to cope with the numerous changes that may have occurred in its work environment during this time. While health challenges are still great, I think that CCISD is in an excellent position to continue its work and mission, because it has been able to provide itself with the required means, tools and partners to rise to this challenge’’, added the Chair of the CCISD Board of Directors, Mr. Philippe Jean.

Gratitude and Rejoicing

CCISD’s 30th anniversary, which was held in three parts – Conferences, a Cocktail and a Festive Dinner – offered its participants both informative and entertaining moments, during which the joy of reunion was palpable.

The organization’s Management took the opportunity to recognize the exemplary commitment of six employees who have been part of the CCISD Team for 10 years, at the Head Office (Caroline Gosselin, Ericka Moerkerken and Bruno Paradis) and in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Dr. Gilles Boleku, Marie-Jeanne Tusey and Dr. Pierre Tayele).

Finally, the evening was marked by the launch of a new initiative. In fact, CCISD was proud to announce that, thanks to its charity, Santé de base pour les communautés (SBC), it will contribute to reducing maternal and child deaths in Haiti through the distribution of birth kits to women who give birth in a health facility.
