COVID-19: CCISD Introduces Mitigation Measures

CCISD is closely monitoring the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic. As an international organization specializing in health, we take the situation seriously and sincerely hope that our team members and the communities with which we work remain healthy and safe.

And as such, we have implemented the following measures to minimize the risk of spreading the virus and to help curb it:

  • All international travel is suspended until further notice;
  • Staff members returning from abroad must follow the preventive measures recommended by the competent authorities of their country of residence, including voluntary home isolation for 14 days;
  • The team in Canada is continuing daily activities by working from home;
  • Our country and head office teams are encouraged to prioritize telecommunications whenever possible (Zoom, Skype and others) and to cancel any gathering that exceeds the maximum number of people prescribed in the country of residence;
  • The head office team is working closely with project leaders in our countries of intervention to make appropriate decisions based on the changing situation in each country.

In light of this global health emergency, CCISD remains committed to its mission to help sustainably improve the health of communities. The team intends to take all the necessary measures to ensure that its interventions continue in a responsible manner, following the national and international recommendations in force.

At the head office, a committee has been formed to closely monitor the situation and will be advising CCISD personnel on the necessary security and preventive measures. The steering committee is also constantly on the lookout to identify ways in which we can adapt CCISD’s work and interventions in this climate of uncertainty.

We would like to salute and thank the health sector’s resources for their dedication and their remarkable work, here in Canada and around the world. In order to facilitate their work, we recall the importance taking individual and collective measures to prevent the spread of disease.

In solidarity,

Robert Beaudry
