Lutte
contre le sida en Haiti : contrat de 7,3 millions de dollars
pour le CCISD et le CECI :
L’honorable Susan Whelan, ministre de la Coopération internationale, a
confirmé l’octroi d’un contrat de service pour un montant de 7,3 millions
de dollars au consortium formé du Centre de coopération internationale en santé
et développement (CCISD) et du Centre d’études et de coopération
internationale (CECI). Ce projet de lutte contre le sida dans le Département de
l’Artibonite, en Haïti, durera 5 ans et vise à réduire l’incidence des
infections transmises sexuellement (ITS), y compris le VIH/sida, tout en menant
des actions en soins de santé primaires et en appui communautaire. Le CECI et
le CCISD travailleront avec le groupe haïtien « Promoteurs Objectif ZéroSida (POZ) ».
Le CECI possède une expertise de trente années d’intervention en Haïti,
alors que le CCISD est reconnu internationalement pour son expertise dans la
lutte contre le sida et les infections sexuellement transmissibles. Il a
d’ailleurs reçu une mention « Best International Practices » par
l’ONUSIDA pour le Projet d’appui à la lutte contre le sida en Afrique de
l’Ouest.

Subvention de la Fondation Jules et Paul-Émile Léger : Pour la 5ème année consécutive, la Fondation Jules et Paul-Émile Léger a accordé une subvention de 50 000 $ au CCISD, pour financer des initiatives communautaires dans le cadre du Projet Sida3 en Côte d’Ivoire, au Niger, au Burkina Faso et au Sénégal.

Fighting
AIDS in Haiti: $7.3 Million for CCISD and CECI :
The Honourable Susan Whelan, Minister for International Cooperation, confirmed
that a $7.3 million service contract has been granted to the consortium formed
by the Centre de coopération internationale en santé et développement (CCISD)
and the Centre d’études et de coopération internationale (CECI). The
consortium’s five-year project to fight AIDS in Haiti’s Department of
Artibonite is aimed at reducing the impact of STIs (sexually transmitted
infections), including HIV-AIDS, at the same time as action is taken in the
areas of primary health care and community support. CECI and CCISD will be
working with the Haitian group named Promoteurs Objectif ZéroSida (POZ).
CECI has had thirty years of experience in Haiti, and CCISD’s expertise in the
fight against AIDS and STIs is internationally acknowledged. Furthermore,
CCISD’s Project to Support the Struggle against AIDS in West Africa has
received UNAIDS’ recognition for its “best international practices.”

Importance
of Targeting High-Risk Groups in the Fight against AIDS : The Benin team
working with the Project to Support the Fight against AIDS in West Africa (AIDS
3) has just published an article in the framework of a colloquium held in Italy
in October 2000. The article
emphasizes the importance and effectiveness of STI-HIV interventions that target

Grant
to complement AIDS2 Project:
For the fifth year, the Fondation Jules et Paul-Émile Léger has granted 50 000
$ to finance community initiatives within the AIDS2 Projet in West Africa,
namely in Burkina Faso, Niger, Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal.

contra el sida en Haití : contrato de 7,3 millones de dólares que
realizarán el CCISD y el CECI :
La
honorable Susan Whelan, Ministro de la Cooperación Internacional, confirmó el
otorgamiento de un contrato de servicio por un monto de 7 millones 300 mil dólares
al consorcio formado por el Centro de Cooperación Internacional para la Salud y
el Desarrollo (CCISD) y el Centro de Estudios y de Cooperación Internacional
(CECI). Este proyecto de lucha
contra el SIDA en el Departamento de Artibonite en Haïti, tendrá una duración
de cinco años. Dicho proyecto se propone como meta reducir la incidencia de las
infecciones de transminsión sexual (ITS), incluyendo el VIH/SIDA, e
implementar, de manera concomitante, acciones de atención primaria y de apoyo
comunitario. El CECI y el CCISD
trabajarán con el grupo haitiano « Promoteurs Objectif ZéroSida (POZ) »
(Promotores Objetivo CeroSida). El
CECI posée una experiencia de 30 años de trabajo en Haití, mientras que el
CCISD es reconocido internacionalmente por su trabajo especializado en la lucha
contra el sida y las infecciones de transmisión sexual (ITS).
El CCISD recibió la mención « Best International Practices »
(Mejores Prácticas Internacionales) de ONUSIDA por el Poryecto de Apoyo a la
